So many damn potholes everywhere especially the 3rd lane from the left both ways. It's really fricking bad around Millerville to Sherwood and around Airline as well. It's tearing up the tires for a lot of commuters. I'm beginning to think the asphalt was thin as hell to begin with when it was first laid down.

I always try to stay in the middle lane or further right lane.

That I-10 stretch bw Baton Rouge and Laffy is concrete I think. They haven't put new surface on it in decades and its absolutely terrible.

Construction on the interstates just so you have a smoother ride is definitely what BR traffic needs.

Pretty sure there is no asphalt in that stretch. All concrete pavement.

Take the B52s at Barksdale and bomb a nice wide corridor through Baton Rouge, then pave it so us decent folk can get through that shithole in a timely fashion.

It badly needs a layer of asphalt. That section was last paved in the mid 1990s when they initially widened it from 2 to 3/4 lanes in either direction.

The section between the end of the basin bridge and Lafayette has to be the worst stretch of interstate in the country.

Yeah, you're right. I forgot the difference. Can someone tell me why concrete is a good idea over asphalt for the interstate?

They are actually taking money earmarked to fix I-10 in Baton Rouge and using it to widen that section near Henderson and repave it completely.

I can only offer anecdotal evidence of 190 in WBR. from 415 to Poydras Bayou Road it is all concrete. It has held up well for all the traffic it gets- especially during grinding season. and its an old road.
Compare that to the rest of 190 that is asphalt. Its horrible.

Looks more like concrete to me. There's constantly huge chunks of broken concrete sitting in the middle of the left lane

They had a contractor come through a few years back and do a bunch of large patches that involved cutting large sections of concrete out and they held up pretty well. It's probably time to have them come out again.
