Please spare me the jokes. I've read this board for long enough that I've seen them all before.

I'm going to be in town for the day next Saturday and have no idea what to do, as I've never been there, only driven through. Will be in town itself and not Madison, etc. Only need enough to keep myself busy for about 8 hours. Any suggestions would be great.

You seriously thought saying spare the jokes would actually spare the jokes?

That's like giving the OT a big red button and saying don't push it.

Fondren District has a neat, but small, bar scene. Babalu has great Mexican food and makes the guacamole you order directly at your table - it's delicious.

If there is a Mrs. zacata88, there is great shopping in Madison, both big box retailers and smaller, boutique stores.

Go to Brent's Drugs/Soda Fountain . . . you'll be pleasantly surprised

Drive to Ridgeland and go shopping. It's not far.

Or, go to Flowood and go shopping.

Art Museum downtown is enjoyable.

Can do a tour of the local brewery Lucky town. $10 a tour that includes a glass and 6 - 6 oz samples. Good way to spend a little time.
