Wife and I owed roughly ~$60k total. Down to about $8k now; will be done by next month (bonus season). Will be glad to be done. Investment was worth it; by the way.

~50k but the balance will be forgiven after 8 more years of government work

One had about 10k.
The other will be about double that when they graduate next year.
I make mine pay for their last year. Paying off the loan is a good incentive to go to work

Zero. My parents cared about me.

I was fortunate that my parents paid for my college but my wife went to medical school after we got married back in 1987. She ended up with 125K in school loans that we paid back. Took 20 years but we finally got it done

This is the OT everyone had a scholarship and only took out money for partying. Then they paid it off in full within 5 years.

I owed 180. I took out a HELOC and now I can duduct the interest.
We did the same with HELOC to pay off portion of wife's higher interest (6.5%) school debt. The only problem is it shows up on credit score as usecured credit card debt, which makes ratio of used vs. available credit look scary, which hurts credit score.
We have about 140K together but 110K is fixed at 2.3% APR luckily.

below 2k . Almost there . Could payoff at any point but the interest rate is like 2% so i will just let it auto deduct for another year.

$0. Thanks to the GI Bill I was paid to go.
If you do Mind me asking how much did the GI bill pay out for college. My GI bill only covered like 15k. I went to school from like 1999 to 2004 .Guess i missed the good GI bill.

Absolutely $0 when I graduated. Working at Murphy's paid my tuition.

Zero! I worked and paid for college. Stop whining about wanting your debts forgiven, too!
