How much money do you think some krewe leaders are pocketing?

I know they are non profit "social clubs" but you know the higher ups in Endymion, Bacchus etc have to be pocketing something.
Too much cash floating around not to.

Ive heard stories of kickbacks from throws vendors, caterers, etc. Who knows what's true, but that certainly wouldn't be shocking.

If there is money involved, you'd be a fool to not think corruption wouldn't follow esp in La.

its not who you know; its about who you blow.

A lot more than you would think.

i'd imagine their tax returns are public if they're a non-profit

You know there is cash involved that doesnt show up on IRS filings bro.

You can always run your own krewe.

There's a lot of laundering going on that's for sure

If the thread about charging for people to be on floats and all, a hell of a lot of money.

I think it's more of being compensated for their efforts. I write a check then I'm done. I don't have to go to the store for beads, bring them to the float, handle transportation, etc. Could I handle all the logistics myself to save a few dollars, sure. I agree with the price for the services rendered.

just because they are non profit, doesnt mean employees arent not paid. unless its a strictly 100% volunteer organization.
What type of funds are they managing annually for the krewes?
