How much money do you think some krewe leaders are pocketing?

I know they are non profit "social clubs" but you know the higher ups in Endymion, Bacchus etc have to be pocketing something.

Too much cash floating around not to.

Ive heard stories of kickbacks from throws vendors, caterers, etc. Who knows what's true, but that certainly wouldn't be shocking.

Pretty sure if they are "pocketing" then it won't be on the tax return. (assuming the OP means skimming/kickbacks and not actual salary or whatever).

I think it's more of being compensated for their efforts. I write a check then I'm done. I don't have to go to the store for beads, bring them to the float, handle transportation, etc. Could I handle all the logistics myself to save a few dollars, sure. I agree with the price for the services rendered.

just because they are non profit, doesnt mean employees arent not paid. unless its a strictly 100% volunteer organization.

What type of funds are they managing annually for the krewes?
