For teacher appreciation week, or end of the year?

My ex wife seems to think we need to donate $100 or more to a pool of cash.

We got our kids teachers a nothing bundt cake and $10 Starbucks card. But he has three teachers

$100 is absurd

My wife's a teacher and about 25 value is about the max she ever gets from a single kid. Although she's not at a rich school. Next year she will be so it may be different

Usually send some chocolates or something like that. If I am on the run and there is a cash pool for the class I might throw in five dollars. Multiply that by 20 or 30 kids and the teachers make out like bandits

Oh by the way I had a girlfriend who was a teacher. Guess we never had to buy at home? Paper towels, tissues, and even pencils. Disinfectant wipes too.

You are supposed to give a gift, not cash.

Damn...when did being a trashy guido become the norm?

21 years and I've never seen a dime of cash, nor would I want to. I've gotten plenty of gift cards over the years, most in the $10 range. If a student tried to give me $100, it would make me very uncomfortable.

Usually a $10-$15 gift card and some smaller gifts like flowers or chocolate to the two elementary teachers.

I have 3 kids, so it gets ridiculously expensive. When they get to middle/high school and have 7-8 teachers each, those poor teachers don't usually get much more than homemade goodies or chocolate.

I like the way one school did it--they just asked parents who were inclined to do so to send one $10 gift card with no particular name on it, then they pooled them all and made sure each teacher got a few. Extra ones were given away like they would a raffle drawing.

Oh by the way, my girlfriend is a teacher. Guess what she's already spent her own money on for her classroom? All that shite and more.
