In short - cool city, ugly women.

Pretty good restaurants and great beer. Really good outdoors scene. Tons of lesbians. The city is real "granola" which is good and bad. In terms of music, if you love ________ String Band, then it's the town for you.

Actually prefacing it with "I'm an uncultured pseudo-intellectual who would prefer not to have my inferior opinions challenged" would probably have worked better.

Semantics. I'm pretty sure that is exactly what I said

I'm a hillbilly redneck hippyish republican.

Only place I like better than Asheville, is Brevard.

Asheville is one of the few places I would consider uprooting family to move.

Btw, hey.

Lived there. If it wasn't for the dirty hippies and extreme lefties it would be an awesome city. It's still not bad do to geography.
Biltmore is an impressive must see.

The Bier Garden if it still exists. It's been 11 years since we went but we had a great time.

Wicked Weed..if you are a hophead get the freak of nature double IPA

Great beer and food town, highland brewery is fun, especially when the weather is nice.

I'm a beach guy, but when it's sunny and warm there I sometimes wonder if I'm really a mountain guy instead.

I live in Asheville and I love it. Moved here just for the beer and have not been disappointed.

Born and raised 45 minutes outside of Asheville (Upstate South Carolina) and lived and worked in Asheville for 2 years. I love it. Just went back a few weeks ago and it's booming more than ever. Awesome food and tons of craft breweries. New Belgium & Sierra Nevada Breweries are setting up shop too.
If you're visiting: Downtown, Biltmore House, Grove Park Inn, the Blue Ridge Parkway along with a few other fillers will keep you busy and entertained for 3-4 days.
When I lived there I overheard numerous tourists from the West Coast compare it to Northern California.
