I have been thinking of getting mine. How hard was the test for yall?

Have mine since I am 18. 12 years and counting.
It wasn't difficult at all. If you have never driven anything big enough to require a CDL I suggest you get some practicebefore the driving test but it's not hard.

I have mine because every once and awhile we have to move repo trucks but I only use it maybe 1-2 times a year if that.

I had one but let it expire. Not hard to obtain.

CDL-A with X endorsement here.

I've had mine since 1989. Saved my arse a few times on silly stuff as the officer typically knows you make your living with it.
I have used mine as a selling point also during the interview process. When in many high profile job situations you would be surprised at the number of times I have been told people can't drive a car.
I'll never get rid of mine even though I haven't been required to use it in over 15 years. Too expensive to get should you need it again.

Is that just while in a commercial vehicle?

The last time I went to the doctor he told me my HDL was 44 and my LDL was 87 but he didn't say anything about a CDL.

I just gave your mom her Cum Dumpster License last night.

Any vehicle, you only have one licence.

I have a Class D license...they frick with me and call it a "Jr. CDL" at work.
this lets me drive smaller commercial vehicles, but does not require the driving test or DOT physical.
The test took a little study, but nothing major and the cost is only $5 more per year than what I was previously getting.

I've driven armored trucks and currently a 24 ft. box truck so driving bigger vehicles is no problem. I suck at taking tests though

Have you seen the guys that have passed? It's not that difficult.

I have a CDL. Got mine last year when my school district required all coaches to get one. Online tests were easy and they have a bunch of study material to memorize material. Bus test was easy. I did have to spend some time practicing the 75 bus parts..had to identify 65 of them correctly to pass...not my forte.

Negative. Personal or work, doesn't matter - if you're driving, .04 is your limit.

if you decide to take the class D test, let me know...I can tell you exactly what to learn in order to pass the test.

sounds to me like the state of MS must be cracking down on the class D requirements....my company started pushing this recently as well for our commercial vehicles.
