How long would it take you to adjust if maps were flipped upside down

Let's say, for ease of portraying maps it made more sense to make south north and north south, since the directions are arbitrary anyway. A map of the world would look like
Would you adjust easily? Would you have to revert back to the trusted "right side up" map in your head when traveling anywhere? Would you southerners be upset because you would now be nasally sounding northerners, at least geographically?

Yeah, that's why they sound that way. The maps.

The new "South" would be the old "North"... Suck it!

The NORTH will rise Again!

I could dig it. I'd much rather live in the deep north anyway.

During the middle ages and early exploration period it was common for maps to be drawn upside down.

180 degrees I can deal with. A 90 degree rotation would f me up worse.

So since we would be in the new North would we get sensational CNN coverage on every storm that comes through?

Magnets don't naturally have N and S written on them, so yes, compasses are arbitrary in regards to what's up and down on a map.

That looks boss. We should start doing it.
Posted on 1/27/15 at 10:26 am to TheIndulger

I don't think I'd like Bama being in the NWC, doesn't have the same ring to it.
