For those of the OT that have come down with Covid, how long did you test positive for? I tested positive on the 23rd and went back for another rapid test today. Test still showing positive and the nurses said I could test positive up to 90 days. Unfortunately, can’t return to work without a negative test. Just curious how others have fared in this regard.

Never tested positive, but would be shocked if I haven't had it.

Asymptomatic, baby!

I was told by the contact tracers for the state of Texas that they don't recommend any more tests for 90 days as I could still be shedding viral fragments and testing positive.

If you can't test negative but have cleared your symptoms, print out the CDC guidelines and get a note from your doctor. Maybe that'll work for your boss/company.

Pull up the cdc recommendations. They have even backed off on negative tests to go back to regular life.

I still have another week of Emergency Paid Sick Leave but that’s the route I think I’ll have to take. There’s no way I can sit at home for 90 days. I work in O&G btw.

This doesn’t make any sense

You can test positive for up to 90 days but CDC and every other authority on the planet says that you’re no longer contagious 10 days after initial symptoms as long as your symptoms continue to improve.

There’s no reason you can’t return to work as long as your symptoms have improved.

That is a really old standard. It has been known for a while now you can test positive after contracting the virus. Your employer needs to update their policies and stop fricking their employees over.

Felt like I was coming down with something on Sunday at the camp. Drank beer Sunday-Tuesday and drove 9 hrs home to BR on Wednesday and closed on my new house Thursday. Thursday for lunch I couldn’t taste or smell anything so I started moving into my new house by myself because I thought I might have covid and didn’t want to get anyone sick. I was mainly tired so I moved a truck load and went to sleep.

Tested positive Friday but I was supposed to go on a another hunt Wednesday and my buddy said I couldn’t come unless I tested negative. I quarantined from Friday to Tuesday afternoon and went and got re-tested on Tuesday and tested negative.

Once we test positive we have to have two consecutive negative tests.
