When I was in the Marines I would drive from Jacksonville, NC to Monroe, La on a 96. Fastest time was 12 hours, avg was around 14. That’s about 975 miles one way and 5hrs (or 350mi) out of bounds.

N.O. To Amarillo to see an ex, it was worth the trip.

In 1981 i hitchhiked from Shreveport to El Paso just to see my best friends older sister who had recently moved there.
You get on the other side of Odessa it was like being on the frigging moon.
Got there only to find her shacking up with several members of the Banditos. That was not the story she had told her parents.
Fun times. Young and stupid.
Damn she was hot though, in that i'm gonna end up a stripper hooked on coke kinda way
Thankfully she drove me back to Shreveport 3 days later.
Enlisted in the marines the next day. It was either that, or join the bandito's..... lol

I drove from Baton Rouge to Seattle non stop (other than bathroom fuel and food) when I was in my 20s. I miss Adderall sometimes.
