How early do I need to get to BR in the morning to avoid traffic?

I'll be coming via I-12 and driving straight through towards Lafayette.

Asgard Device doesn't believe me, but I timed myself Tuesday from Walker to Downtown BR and then back again.

38 minutes from my driveway in the city limits of Walker to Laurel Street downtown in the morning. In the afternoon, it took me 36 minutes.

Just saying.

well, assuming there will be an issue on the bridge ( and there will be) , If you hit the bridge by 5:30 or so, you might be ok.

If you can get past airline by 6:30 am, you shouldn't even have to slow down hardly

Eta: from someone who drives that time every morning

Down to 1 lane on each side for a stretch between LF and BR. Same thing last Sunday too

Yup - 190 is the only answer right now until that work is done. As a bonus though, you get to swing by either Billy's or Kartchner's in Krotz Springs.

Not bad. They must have improved things on I-12 since I lived in BR. It used to narrow to two lanes between Livingston and East Baton Rouge and it would back up on both sides for hours.

I know traffic is very heavy between downtown and the split, but it usually moved albeit slowly. My biggest frustration was having crossing the bridge on I-10 west during evening rush hour.

Also, the basin bridge between Ramah and Lafayette really sucks to get stuck on. It seems to happen fairly often. If it does, you are stuck for hours.

Took ne about 5.5 hours to get to Houston last week. Last night, less than 4, but it was last midnight

At latest 6:30. However if you get here earlier you reduce your risk of being delayed by idiots playing pinball and holding you up for hours.
