That's pretty much what he did. His yard was nothing but a random patchwork of a few green spots with mostly dead or even bare dirt in between. His yard is still not 100% right.

I'm lazy and you're the one who didn't bother to read the OP.

I said right off the bat that I'm pretty confident $32/application is the cheapest I can get, so Im well aware of pricing.

And I'm new to this part of town, but again, thanks for your stellar contribution.

Unfortunately for me, nearly everyone uses the same company that gave them the free year. Some of my neighbors closer to the front of the subdivision are finding other companies, but everyone on my street either uses the builder's company or self-service.

I probably need to get to know some of the folks closer to the front of the subdivision.

The problem that I've ran into talking to people about lawn care is that no one (including myself) really has a clue what's going on. Most people move into a house and go with the with the guy who hangs a flyer on their door and offers the best price.

Also, it seems to me that people don't want to hold up their end by cutting and watering properly. In my old neighborhood, one guy literally blamed the lawn guy becuase half his Bermuda lawn had gone dormant in July. I've never once seen him run a sprinkler.

I don't know everything, so I'm trying to see if anyone here has any criteria on which to base good lawn care. I'm trying to avoid getting the guy that Darth described. It just seems more efficient to ask potentially dozens of people at a time rather than have one-off conversations with people who complain about their unwatered lawns.

I have a buddy that works for Scott's lawn service in BR. He's a good dude.
