And how long did it take you to get over it?
Been a smoker for about 12 years now. Not a heavy smoker, about 3-5 cigs a day.
Today decided to quit.
Doing Nicotine patches (7mg) and 2 mg chewing gum.
Cravings not so bad. I had to use one gum so far. I assume it’s gonna get worse in the next few days.

Cold turkey. Whenever I feel the urge for one I take a walk.

The smell and taste combined with the increased severity of hangovers when I smoked.

Also, dip. Don't recommend that path.

Nicotine gum about 14 years ago. I still chew it so there's that. You probably smoked little enough where you might be able to get by without it.

The day I found out I needed stents in the widow maker. I was never a heavy smoker but I smoked, until that day. I’ve never looked back or wanted to put any type of smoke in my lungs. If I want to get high I eat an edible.

Quit my job, bought an expensive bicycle and took the summer off from work. Well, I did enough to stay alive. 6/12/78.

Quit about 7 years ago. Switched to a vape pipe that leaked and did not work half the time. Kept trying different brands and it was always a battle to get on to work.

I drove a lot back then and it was a physical addiction as well as the nicotine. When I got in my car I had to have a cigarette.

After about three months of fighting with the pipe, I gradually just stopped .

I would still get strong urges for a year or so. Funny thing is smelling it or seeing somebody smoking did not bother me one bit. It would just hit me at random times. Looking back, it was easier than I thought.

Same way everybody does - I stopped putting them in my mouth and lighting them. That's it, all there is to it. It's hard for a while and sucks, buts get better over time.

Careful there Forrest, you might end up in Santa Monica or Maine in a couple of months.

You just stop. You don't do nicotine substance then you have to recognize your patterns that trigger your desire to smoke. One of my big triggers was alcohol and it's been about 5 years but I can finally drink without wanting to smoke a cigarette. I basically gave up alcohol for a few years because that's what made me slide back in the past. Coffee was another trigger but I just knew that I was going to want a cigarette paired so that I broke that habit.

Put em down. Seriously. Just stop. First two weeks are tough but after that I barely thought of em

It’s mental. Just don’t buy em and after a couple weeks you’ll smell others smoking and realize how awful they smell
