$90 to adopt? Seems pretty steep.
I think it's like $60 here in NELA.

Would you rather they drop it off on the side of the road? Because people do that.

So now dropping a dog off at the shelter warrants the death penalty? Y'all need to grow a pair and toughen up.

I don't see that at all. Definitely see the heeler though. Highly intelligent but very energetic. Owner needs to be the same.

Cute puppy. He shouldn't be in the pound too long before getting adopted.

I found the cutest dog yesterday on companion animal alliance. I just have to keep reminding myself I already have two dogs and don't have the time for another.

I'd rather a newborn baby over a puppy any day. I'm all about adopting dogs, but I'll never get a puppy again.

This. My sisters kid is stubborn enough she was tested for the autism spectrum, but after dealing with my puppy for a week, she was all about the children ha. It's even tougher when they are 5 to 8 weeks old. Zero control over bowel and Piss, will literally chew anything, and howl like crazy when left alone.

We adopted a rat terrier a couple years ago from the New Iberia shelter. She was a couple years old. Pretty dog, excellent health, well behaved and listens very well. I always wonder what exactly happened that led to her being in the shelter.

Also, rescuing puppies is a risk. Sometimes you just have no idea how big it will get.

I wonder the same about our bigger dog. She was well trained when she was adopted so obviously someone cared for her enough to teach commands.

dogs are the only thing that make me get soft hearted
my bloodhound is a rescue from a 1 room apartment who was living in a crate
my terrier was found eating garbage behind a fast food place (he was chipped, owner denied ownership)
my hound mix I found as a puppy in my office parking lot

those are the permanent residents
currently I have a stray lab mix I'm trying to find a home for we've had a few months, and Friday I found a terrier looking puppy dodgeing cars on Coursey... she's at the house now too

can't save em all but I'll do my part

anyone need a dog?
I've got two to move

I adopted a puppy that looked like that. Was my best friend for 15 years.

I adopted another mutt a little over a year ago--loyal and sweet.

I can't believe that folks give up such beautiful dogs, but I haven't walked a mile in their shoes, so I don't know their reasons. I am just thankful for the opportunity.
