The liberal media, including Hollywood just wants to make money. Nothing plays to the middle class better than portraying the successful people as the villains.

i can tell you that in my high school, the closest thing we had to what i would call actually "bullies" was a group of white kids, mostly athletes or wannabe athletes, who came from affluent families. many of them were in all likelihood true sociopaths. several of them died in high school or soon after. they looked a LOT like Hollywood bullies in my opinion.

however, in the movies, the bullies are usually star athletes as well. most of the true star athletes in my high school, several of whom ended up playing pro sports, were all pretty decent dudes. they cared about sports and girls, and that's about it. the "losers" werent a threat to them, so they didnt even acknowledge them.

They do a horrible job at portraying real life outside of their bubble in general.

bullies in school

I was bullied by a few members of the football team for not playing football when I was younger. It stopped when I realized I was considerably bigger than they were.

Violence is the fastest way to stop a single bully.

But the way you stop anyone and everyone from ever crossing that line is to verbally embarass someone in a way that makes them emotionally react. Find their biggest insecurity and put a shining light on it.

3 o’clock High-Buddy Revelle. The coolest bully in a movie imo.
Wish they would have had a spin off movie with him as the lead. Would have been interesting.

The “bullies” are the (fringe) friends of the popular kids. People confuse that for being “popular”. The thing is, the kids who get bullied are asking for it / deserve it most of the time.

Sounds like someone was the fring friends of the popular kids.

Schools were better when bullying was allowed.

maybe, maybe not but i wasn't a bully and saw very little bullying from 7th-12th grade. i simply don't believe it's as bad as advertised.

I played football and ran track and can say that I bullied the F out of kids. Someone had to do it, if not, you end up with this b.s. they call gen z. You can’t wear a school shooter overcoat and cast anime spells and think that I’m not gonna f with you. Don’t get me started on the closet figs who pretended to be straight but were gayer than a $2 bill, they were open season. I finished with a master’s degree and I currently work for the largest hospital network in the gulf south, so i’d say I didn’t amount to nothing.

This was also my observation in middle and high school.

The bullies were poor white trash who were likely abused at home, they picked on the weak at school, and it was the "cool kids" that generally stood up to the bullies.

Same. My group of friends tormented each other more than any bullies could anyway. Still do.

I went to an all boys private school with plenty of major wealth. The only true bully in my graduating class was a guy from a good family with 3 other brothers in the school. His brothers were all great people, smart, did well in school, and have had good careers and families. The bully of that family was the black sheep. Prototypical meathead. Things came crashing down for him in college, however, when he learned pretty quickly that no one is impressed by being a dumb meathead who's an a-hole. He was basically shunned from every fraternity he wanted to join and is now at some low-rent financial advising firm in our hometown. Basically, he was an insecure idiot growing up, bullied kids because of his own insecurities, and ended up being the loser he always was.

Breakfast club nailed this one. Most bullies have home life issues and bad parents.

Two bullies immediately come to mind. Different schools, but the guys were similar. Poor, not athletes, but large and fat for the time. They never bothered me, but they picked on a lot of other kids. Oddly, each of them really targeted their smaller/weaker“friend” that hung out with them.

One drowned in the 8th grade, and the other died in an industrial fire a short time after high school.

Makes sense. Most educators are bullies in my experience.
