Kinda like the second variation of this map. Need to continue east paralell to 90 and have I 49 meet elevated Expressway. Also think 3127 should be 4 lane to meet somewhere west of Port Allen

On the I 10 spillway between BR and Laffy, construct new span. Make the new span dedicated truck only traffic. May have room between spans or put north or south of existing lanes.

They need to finish running I-49 all the way to New Orleans that may help with traffic in Baton Rouge

Here is a link to the full study where this came from:
LA-DOTD I-49S Improvements Needed Patterson to Westbank Expressway

I am all for whatever route DOTD picks, but I will not hold my breath on any of them. Feel free to print out the 22 page report and read it in the shitter, you can use the report as toilet paper since DOTD has done nothing in promoting or improving this route except for needed repaving of the road.

They even made the process more complicated on some sections by adding J-Turns in Berwick/Bayou Vista instead of biting the bullet and developing a network of frontage roads and exits there. Now the JTurns do help out with safety if used properly.

Like I have said in another post, either Louisiana needs increase taxes on gas or use tolls to build major infrastructure projects.

That is what it took to to get the LA 1 project from the drawing board to construction. They are even replacing the Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel with a toll bridge.

Here is another idea for an off shoot of 49, you could build 349 or 549 using the right a way of 3127 and extend it West of Baton Rouge, but that might be too long.
