It sucks when you're single in your 30s and just about all of your friends are married or in serious relationships. Plus their old ladies don't want them hanging out with you, cause they're worried they might get the taste of freedom I guess. And when you do get to hang out with your buddies, it's usually them bitching about their S/O most of the time.

I was married right out of college and missed out on my 20s. Now that I'm ready to get out and have some fun, I have to do it alone most of the time.

You're alone because your "friends" don't like you, not because they're married

Yeah this sounds awful. I'm either never getting married or knowing damn well that shite is going to workout before I get married. I'm talking dating for 3-4 years before the question is popped.

I've never been married and I'm in my mid 30's. Kind of feel like people see me as weird or a failure because of that fact. Oh well, such is life.

By the way, I would suggest taking a solo trip to somewhere you've always wanted to visit. I did it last year and it was cool. Hit up bars alone and meet strangers, etc.

Learn to love it

All my married friends are jealous of me. I can see it in their miserable eyes as they are chained to their post wall wife that they married in their early to mid 20s. Dead bedrooms for sure

Meanwhile i can do whatever the frick i want, when i want. Accountable to no one but myself. Its great.

There's never a guarantee. I dated my ex for almost 4 years before we got married. She became hooked on prescription pills later after 5 years of marriage, and the rest is history. In other words, you can't see the future.

It doesn't have to suck. There's plenty of women in the same boat. You need to try to ditch the self loathing tendencies and lighten up brotha.

You can't just enjoy the peace and quit of being alone? Join a fishing website, and get someone to wet a line with.

Oh believe me, I do love the freedom. Especially after being in a shitty marriage. And yes, I can see the misery in some of my friends' faces. Some are happily married though.

Find new friends then. Look on Meetup.com for groups in your area for any hobbies you have. That's what I did and it worked well. There are Meetup groups for any kind of hobby. Some just for adults to be social (weekly trivia nights, happy hours, etc).

Because of that site I have made a lot of new female friends in their mid to late 30s. Most of them single (some married). Just because I'm married....doesn't mean I can't hang out with my friends.

I have a 2 week trip planned to New Zealand soon, and I'm gonna spend a week in Key West come October.
