Have you heard the Christmas Shoes song yet?

If not here ya go: LINK
It was almost Christmas time
And there I stood in another line
Trying to buy that last gift or two
Not really in the Christmas mood
And standing right in front of me was a
Little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing around like little boys do
And in his hands he held
A pair of shoes
His clothes were worn and old
He was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn't believe what I heard him say
[Chorus:]
Sir I wanna buy these shoes
For my mama. please
It's Christmas eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry sir
Daddy says there's not much time
You see,
She's been sick for quite a while And I
know these shoes will make her smile And I
Want her to look beautiful
If mama meets Jesus tonight
They counted penny's for what seemed like years then the
Cashier said, "Son, there's not enough here."
He searched his pockets frantically
Then he turned and he looked at me and he said
"Mama made Christmas good at our house though
Most years she just did without, Tell me sir,
What am I gonna do?
Some how I gotta buy her these Christmas shoes."
So I laid the money down
I just had to help him out
And I'll never forget the look on his face when he said,
"Mama's gonna look so great."
[Repeat Chorus]
I knew I'd caught a glimpse of heaven's love as he thanked me and ran out
I knew that God had sent me that little boy to remind me what Christmas is all about
[Repeat Chorus with children]
[Little girl:]
I want her to look beautiful if mama meets Jesus tonight
It was almost Christmas time
And there I stood in another line
Trying to buy that last gift or two
Not really in the Christmas mood

I hate this fricking song so much because it hits me in the feels. My dad passed away when I was really young so for most of my life it was just me and my mom. She worked 2 jobs during the week and cleaned offices on the weekends to make sure I could stay in Catholic school. There were many years where I would save the money I'd get from my aunts and grandparents for my birthday and give it to my mom for Christmas gifts. She never wanted to take it but eventually she'd give in. When I got married she tried to give us a check for $10,000 that she got by taking a loan out against her 401K. I almost lost my shite. I promptly tore it up and yelled at her for taking money from her retirement. She's easily the strongest person I've ever met in my entire life.

This song is the main reason I avoid 24/7 Christmas radio stations
It's a terrible song
Makes me want to destroy whatever source is emitting the sound waves playing this abortion of a song
Like some 8 year old would be out buying shoes on Christmas Eve by himself. Shitty cash in is what it is. Using heartstrings and Christmas to make a quick buck

The movie is one of the worst of all time. And the shoes are putrid. His mom probably died at the site of them.
This was a low point in Rob Lowe's career.

Jesus would just take off his mama's shoes and wash her feet, because that's just the kind of guy he was.
Kid would prolly be better off buying foot cream and toe nail polish if he really wanted Jesus to be impressed..
