Have you ever had the opportunity to make a doctor wait around to be helped?

Would be glorious to schedule one of them at a specific time and make them sit around for 2 hours.

Why do so many of them suck at this simple task?

i had an appointment this morning. 8:30, doctor saw me on time and spent an hour with me (wow!) but i think had to wait 45 minutes to schedule my follow up.

Just look at it from the point of view that a hundred or so years ago you probably would have just died and not ever got the chance to see a real doctor.

Either:
A. You're a good looking woman.
or
B. I think you're lying.

One Medical Group if it's in your area is the way to go. Offices look like a tech office and doctor comes to great you at the front rather than being hauled to a room to wait for anther 45 minutes. Never had an appointment that was late. Like a completely different experience.

My providers have a really cool telephone system that I would have used instead of waiting almost an hour to schedule a follow up.

Hope your folks catch up soon. Prayers.

I have no idea what his schedule was, but he came in after the delay on my follow up and apologized for the delay.

I really liked him, although he appeared to be about 19 years old.

Yes and it was when I worked in public accounting. Doctors make the worst clients so when he walked it didn't mean much

doctors waiting rooms should be mini satellite casinos with fully stocked bars and have cocktail waitresses wearing old school nurses uniforms.

For doctors, time is money. It costs them nothing to have you sitting in their lobby for two hours waiting for them to get around to you. It costs them a lot to sit around and wait for you to show up for your appointment if you're late and they don't have someone else ready to be seen instead. That's why most of them overbook so they will have people waiting at all times and won't have any down time.

Amen! Started using them a couple of years ago and have never had to wait for an appointment. They also provide a lot of other services (24-7 phone hotline for any questions, quick appointment availability, online tools for everything, etc.). One Medical Group is by far the best medical provider I've ever dealt with. They also waive the annual membership fee for patients who have my insurance company, so I get all their benefits for free.

I had an appointment yesterday @ 10:30. I arrived at 9:55 because I knew that I had paper work to fill out. Still waiting in the lobby at 12:05 I see the surgeon I'm there for leave for lunch. He returned about 12:40. I was then immediately called back, but he didn't come to me until 1:20. He talked to me for all of 10 minutes, then I had to wait in the lobby for another 10 minutes for his nurse to finish my the paper work for me to register for the surgery.

A practice that would get you fired in basically any other customer service industry but is common place in health care.

I would have called him out and found another Dr.
