When I was 18, I was a pretty good boxer... So I talked dad into boxing me.. he was around 43ish. After about 30 seconds, I knew for sure I didn't want to fight him for real. He was hitting me in places I didn't know I had!

Never once , until he hit me in the eye socket with a weapon at 16 & almost broke my orbital bone.

Survival mode kicked in, didn't see my dad...just saw red and that loud sound in my ears that "some guy is trying to put me in the hospital". The fact it was my dad went out the window- I really didn't know it was him in that instant.

I successfully defended myself, let's say he never struck me with a weapon again, & I still felt bad even though I wasn't in the wrong.

That was one of the first clues I was becoming a man, as horrible as that was to lay hands on my father- self defense or not.

Came close once, but couldn't bring myself to hit him.

He was yelling at me while I was walking away and said something that put me over the edge so I started walking back towards him quickly like it was on, so before I get up in his face he shoved me backwards and I damn near fell over because I wasn't expecting it and because I was wearing socks in the garage on a polished concrete type floor. I remember getting back up into his face and him shouting "let's go, let's do this" or something similar. I just kept staring him down and eventually walked away and drove off, still wearing only socks. I would have destroyed him at the time though, he was already getting older and I was in good shape. That was the maddest I've ever been, and didn't really speak to him for about a year. I'm just glad my mom didn't witness any of it. And glad it didn't go down because I can't imagine trying to comeback from something like that.

pops was ready to fricking go though.

My dad was only 20 years older than me so I'm pretty sure the only time in my life I could have whipped him was when he was sick and dying of cancer at 57. Other than that he was way tougher than me, I was way soft compared to him. I'd let him beat the shite out of me now if I could spend one more day with him though.

Me and dad fight a good bit. I've knocked him out several times and he's knocked me out a couple times. Usually by sucker punch. It's a real doozy when my mom starts throwing haymakers. Never a dull moment

I bowed up to pops long enough to get knocked down. That's the extent of the history of my disrespect towards that man

No. We have been in heated arguments in the past, many years ago, but I've been bigger than my dad since I was 13. Luckily, I respect him enough to never cross that line and he probably has a healthy respect of the laws of physics.

We were play wrestling a few months ago. Everyone said we were both too old, come to find out... they were right. I was sore the next day and dad found out he had a fractured rib. He didn't want anyone to tell me about the rib though because I would either feel bad or know that I won!

My dad passed away when I was 14 so I never did.

Me and my 19 year old have never had a physical altercation. Heck we have early argued. He is a good kid that has a lot of charisma. Hard to stay mad at the little shite.

Nope..My older brother showed me that was not an option.

When I was 12 and my bigger older brother was 16 he decided during an argument with my dad to run at him. My dad took him down did the ninja shite and was on top of my brother with his right hand cocked back and told my brother if he ever did that again he would not hold back.

That was the only physical altercation involving my dad for me or my brother.
