I've driven both. Tundra TRD and F150 FX4. Have the Ford now and love it more than the Tundra I had.

Brakes

Can't find any reliable data that show all 1/2 ton brake sizes, though I do remember old Tundra commercials bragging about their's being the biggest. That being said, just bc they have big rotors doesn't mean they stop any better...especially if they're the heaviest half ton due to being "built like 3/4 tons".

rods

Same as above. Nothing online specifically stating the Tundra's as having the most heavy duty rods...only way to tell would be to compare them all side by side IMO.

Is an optional size. Ram offers a 3.92 and at one time offered a 4.10 from the factory. I used to run aftermarket 4.56's in my old truck and it was certainly not a 3/4 ton. Anyone can swap gears to any ratio they'd like...

It's not the brake rotors, but the calipers themselves

I had a 2011 f150 Lariat Limited and now drive a 2014 Tundra 1794. I loved the way the f150 drove, esp the power with the 6.2L. However, there were a lot of intermittent electrical problems. Had issues with things like mirrors that would get stuck in the folded position, steering column stuck in a retracted position, radio that wouldn't sync to my phone, etc... I thought the interior was pretty nice until I got my new truck. Other than a few creature comforts that the old truck had, I don't miss it at all. In my experience, the Tundra is just a better truck.
