Here in Savannah, Mosquitoe Control just asked for half a million to combat the disease. Now I think we have an old Vietnam era chopper that throws a can of Raid out once a year and a spray truck that comes by once in a blue moon. Now they want $500,000 or the entire east coast will be uninhabitable for 10 months out of the year. Padding budgets?

If they didn't do anything, you'd just be complaining about how many mosquitos there are.

2 months should be enough.

Can't let a great opportunity to take more of our money go to waste.

Sorry you live in a poor state. You could be fronting bill for the new genetically modified mosquitoes approved 2 days ago by FDA.

Since male mosquitoes do not bite, Oxitec's mosquito brigade will not be capable of spreading disease. When they mate with wild female Aedes aegypti, their offspring do not live long enough to reproduce.

Don't be an ignorant dumbass; the threat is real. Baby died yesterday in Houston. Cases throughout the Southeast US that affect all of us and the people we know.

Cool man. We have a chopper that flies once a year and a broke down spray truck. $500,000 is what they're asking for. If we don't approve it life as we know it is over.

I am sure this will go down with Y2K, pig flu, bird flu, Ebola, UT winning, etc.

Well my wife is pregnant so I bought some special bug spray that is safe during pregnancy. I paid sales tax on that.

Zika is a patented product of the Rockefeller group. Does microcephaly come from zika virus, or the the Brazilian pesticides (that are banned in the US)/genetically modified mosquitoes/etC?

Zika by itself is less harmful than the flu. Not much of a scare there..unless of course you're pregnant

Have they started whispering about a vaccine yet?

I was told to pick up the repellant, and the government automatically took my sales tax.

I don't know what exactly you're asking for.

The whole doing something yourself without the Govt. telling you to. I would have smothered my wife in DEET and made 1970's hippies cry with all the DDT I would spray in a 5 acre area.

$500k divided by 379,199 metro pop in savannah, ga equals about $1.32 per person. So sorry this is such a financial burden on you for the health of future generations.

I see what you did there. But Savannah ask for money x that by ten to grease the local wheels. Task forces and studies. We have a local sales tax for roads that goes to everything but roads. They even passed a secondary tax to cover what the first tax was supposed to do. Can't repeal these for the threat of property tax going up.
And only property owners will pay for the Zika tax. Not the entire population.

Ya right! The rental market will raise rents accordingly when new taxes are introduced so the renters will indirectly pay. You can't grasp that?
