Has anyone used Uber before to get your car jump started

Car battery is dead in my parking garage because I'm an idiot and left my lights on, tow company I called at 4:40am this morning said their trucks can't fit in my garage. Walked to the gym and I figured while walking instead of paying $75 to get my car jumped why not call an Uber and give the driver a $20 for their trouble

I thought you drove a sickass Audi TT? Why is the battery dying?

sounds like a plan. report back with results so we can still laugh at you for improper car maintenance

after I requested one I would call and explain my situation. If he has jumper cables and is cool with it then by all means.

Offer $20 to the first person you can stop and ask, they'll probably do it.

Can't you just ask a nice Mexican neighbor to help?

Your battery ran down, and you called a tow company? Do you have any friends?

Sup man. Let's hit up pluckers one of these days

There has to be another way right? Someone who is an Uber driver might not exactly be thrilled if he is going out to pick up someone and all they wanted was for him/her to jump off their car.

Just order a pizza. They have a car. Worst case, at least you have a pizza.

My insurance has roadside assistance for things like this. Check yours.

This is what I was thinking. If my battery went dead the first thing that would pop up in my head would not be "let me go ahead and call the tow company. They can probably jump me off".
There has to be somewhere around that would be willing to jump you off. I have never seen someone who needed to be jumped off unable to find someone who is willing to help them out. It could happen to me at some point so if I can help out someone I will.

Get your significant other to take you to Walmart, where you can spend about $40-50 for a Stanley or Schumacher portable jumpstarter. Charge it back up and keep it in your trunk when done.
That way, you'll be ready when it happens the next time. Because it will.

I live downtown. The number of places within walking distance that would sell an item like that are out of the question. I'd have to take the bus.
Closest Auto Zone is a 3 mile walk one way. It's below 32 degrees today, no thank you.
