Everyone here has lived in Bahrain.

You're pretty much the last person to go there.

BIL was there periodically with the Navy. He'd be there for a few months at a time. He shared a luxury condo with three other guys. That's all I got.

My dad lived there for a year or so as a contractor, but that was 23-24 years ago.

Pretty sleepy town (almost city). I enjoyed how layed back it was, but possibly it´s too much so.

The hookers were top notch. Not a lot to do outside of bars that I remember. We did go fishing in an old wooden boat but didn't catch anything.

See you there is 6 months.

There is nothing to visit, the main attractions are the trash and graffiti covered tree of life and the grand mosque. Go to the Souq buy some gold and have Ali make you a few suits. There are Plenty of bars and hookers...seriously a lot of hookers!

If you want to walk to base live in Juffair but you won't get much for your money. If you want a really nice place live further out like Hidd or Mahooz. I lived in Juffair my first year and Mahooz my second. Probably going to get a Villa in Hidd for my third time to that shite hole.

Are you an MA or an Officer?

Spent a few years in the area, back and forth into Saudi. Are you going as a private person or military? Either way the nightlife is pretty good, lots of local (LA & MS) folks there. Bahrain is kinda middle east lite, you get the ambiance without the rules. Go have dinner at Ricks supper club for food from home. Depending on your predilections you may have a blast, alcohol is everywhere and prostitution is legal. The people are very friendly and most are just looking for a good time.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

Nah bruh,

If shite goes down in Wisconsin, Montana, or South Dakota, we have some serious issues.

If shite happens in Bahrain, well... duh...
