Has anyone been through or seen the LA-TX checkpoints?

Son went through a Texas checkpoint on I-10 traveling from Louisiana to Texas for a job. He had paperwork from his company and was allowed right through.

I went through it on Wednesday and came back to LA yesterday. They were still checking yesterday heading west into Texas. They’re not checking heading east into LA.
It was surprisingly quick and efficient. It took us maybe 2-3 minutes from when we pulled off until we got back on the interstate.

They were up and running on I-10 last night at about 8:00 pm.

That is exactly why this checkpoint is so fricking stupid.
But next campaign Greg Abbott can use the low virus numbers (completely due to a lack of testing in Texas and not because the virus isn’t in Texas) and say it was because of his actions to shut down the border.

That should be illegal, no states should be able to restrict travel to there and as an American citizen I should require paperwork to travel across a state border.

What kind of info do they want? I read a DPS agent may check the quarantine address you give them, and if you aren’t there, you’re subject to a fine.

You went to Texas and came back the next day? You know you suppose to quarantine 14 days in Texas right?

Hopefully they are putting up booths and gates. Need to make this a permanent border crossing to keep out the riff raff from our great state.

Just went thru the checkpoint very smooth took less than a minute
