I have been listening to the dan lebatard show this morning and they have been talking about Action Park a water park in New Jersey. There is a documentary about how dangerous it was and people dying there. Stugots was talking about his stories going there and how it was popular in the 80s and 90s. Now johnny Knoxville is making a movie about it. Has anybody ever been there from the northeast and was it that bad the way they are describing it?

They should do us all a favor and do a live remote of the show from there. Maybe we'll get lucky and something will happen to them.

Action Park had some comically dangerous rides.

Never went but my friends said going on the looping slide made you feel like you were a pair sneakers in the dryer.

Call me odd but this experience never made it on to my Things-To-Do List.

Pass.

I never heard of it until hearing stugots talk about it this morning and hearing other people's stories dying or getting injured there. I thought it interesting but I expected a big nice water park but that looks like crap somebody put in their back yard.

During testing of the Cannonball Loop dummies were thrown in, and decapitated. The attraction was adjusted until the dummies came through with heads intact and then park employees were offered $100 to test it out themselves.

911 calls were so frequent at the old Action Park (estimated 5-10 trips per day) that the owner of the park purchased additional ambulances for the township of Vernon, NJ.

I'm a Gen Xer from Long Island.

Action Park was the place every teenager wanted to go but few parents actually let them. Most snuck off and had to explain the road rash later.

Action Park was an absolute dump (worst than Blue Bayou) but their TV commercials made it seem like an X-Games Disney World.

I grew up in Jersey, and that is the exact thing that happened to me when I went there.
