I would like to think that had I been that close to the guy I would have had my hands around his throat but who really knows. But maybe another hijacker had a gun pointing at him while the picture was being taken.

A picture. A selfie is a picture you take of yourself. Hence selfie. It's right there in the name. Calling a picture of you taken by someone else a selfie is just dumb

Maybe the photo taking actually calmed down the psycho hijacker enough for him not to kill anyone.

I wonder if that guy would have knocked out the hijacker with a punch if he would have been declared a hero or someone who put other lives at risk?
