Let the current take you out, relax then swim at a 350 degree angle towards the shore. If the water starts to bawl before then stay on the cold side of the current line and eat the crawfish that float by as your last meal

Trying to beat the current is how people die in rip currents at the beach.

I don’t understand people anymore. They rather film you struggling and watch you potentially die than helping you.

Swim towards the closest shore perpendicular to the current?

You end up downstream but you don't waste energy fighting the current.
