Strange thing I've noticed: Turkish immigrant cooks seem to have settled in Paris, Greeks in NY and Lebanese down here. Well, that, or else Middle Eastern food that is called Turkish in Paris is called Greek in NY or is called Lebanese down here. I don't really know which is the case, but I have my suspicions.

I don't know, but in my thinking, Greek is more Kabobs and such, and a lighter hummus. Lebanese is more shawerma based. Lebanese usually offers the kabobs, but I've never seen a greek place offer shawerma.

I went to Israel once and you could get shawerma sandwiches on the sidewalks at cafes, like walking around the french quarter. And those frickers put old french fries that have been sitting out for hours INSIDE of the shawerma sandwich. Those things were actually delicious.
