We had police report filed and turned into shop owners insurance.

Got an email from the shops insurer stating they don't feel they are liable and are NOT paying for anything.

What's my next step? Do I have any other options outside of lawyer?

were you notified and given a chance to come get it at any time? Was it located inside of a locked fence.

These are 2 very important questions

It was in his shop for three weeks and he hadn't gotten to it yet. It was locked inside his fence of his work shop

he is responsible then. Any lawyer will mail them in a letter of representation and that is usually enough to get motherfrickers like that to stop being jerks. They just feel like they can push anyone around because most people won't or don't have the time to fight it.

I don't see how they are not liable.

Thanks man. That's what I am looking for

What's sad is the shop owner has been super nice and more than helpful in all this and is pissed that his insurance isn't taking care of his needs. This is supposedly the first time this has happened.

Check the neighborhood. I'm willing to bet that with school being out some little punk arse kid took it for a joyride.

All you need is a screw driver to defeat the lock

We found our stolen cart in a ditch a mile from the location of the theft

You want me to write a letter of "statement for refusal" for you?

all insurance agencies will claim this. An individual is usually not intimidating enough for them to just say "here's your money"

BTW,What shop was it at?

Go and talk to them and say that you are going to get your lawyer, J Noble Daggett involved. True Grit.

I have a local guy that will help me out. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what they have done. Thanks

That's what I'm trying to figure out here, what was their reasoning in the email?

They didn't really give a reason per say why they aren't paying. The email only states that they are NOT LIABLE for loss incurred by their client and if I think they are wrong that I can send any new information they need and they will look it over
