I know this is a problem for most amateurs but any time I play a tight course I am OB off the tee on the reg.

One issue is, I really don't really have any more confidence in my 3w or hybrid than I do my driver.

I hit the ball plenty far, I just have trouble hitting fairways. So I guess my question is, should I start practicing a "softer" swing? I've read some pros advise amateurs to worry about swinging hard first, then worry about accuracy later.

Do you baws swing for the fences with your drivers every time?

I've tried taking something off my driver mid-round before and it's always a disaster.

Thoughts/suggestions/prayers appreciated

You suck bro, just face it.

Seriously though, a lesson or two wouldn't hurt.

swing speed is 105-108 w/ driver per trackman. I'm just being honest.

are you off balance in your follow through? if not, you are probably fine, if you are on your toes trying to keep balance, swing easier. limit your backswing

are you missing right or left? im guessing right

why dont you tee off with an iron? if you hit the ball so far it really shouldnt be limiting and should hit it a lot straighter

I normally talk to my golf ball, ProV1, obviously. I give her names such as 'Bitch', 'Whore' and 'Pig'..mostly while she is flying.

You've been on a trackman but haven't gotten any lessons?

If length is not a problem, try using a two-iron on shorter par fours (370-400). This will still leave a short iron into the green but you will be amazed how much better you score by hitting you 2nd shot from the short grass.

had one lesson w/ Leitz a few years ago and it has helped. Just trying to improve driver accuracy at this point.

Focus on the target throughout the entire swing.

Aim for a specific piece of the fairway, narrow this thing down as much as you can.

Aim small miss small.

Have the target in your head the entire time you are swinging.

if youre missing right, try swinging your practice swings more like a baseball swing. itll help keep your swing plane flat on the real deal. this helped me back when i was pushing it.

Swinging softer fixed that problem for me. Ball travels just as far as it does when I swing all out by the time it finished slicing.

On what planet is a 2 iron easier to hit than a driver? If you can't get a driver to go straight, you're not consistently hitting a 2 iron well.

How far do you hit your 4 iron and do you hit it straight?

it's probably your loft. Are you spraying the ball all over fairway? If you are then you need lessons. If you can get consistent with the shape of your drive then getting in the fairway is much easier. I hit a draw off the tee and find most fairways.
