No, it’s because the company had a semblance of pride back then and focused more on running a business. The biggest example is a lot of people had their first job at McDonald’s through the early 2000s. You wouldn’t be caught dead working at a McDonald’s in Baton Rouge in the 2020s.
ok, I’ll speak for myself. I didn’t gaf about how they ran their business. All I cared was the cheese burger and not getting traapped in that hamburger jail thing or the hollow Grimmace on the playground

You want a good burger??? Go back to a Wendy’s in the early 80’s and get you a double. The grease would literally slide down you chin.. good times.

In 1987, Eddie Murphy drew a contrast between a McDonald's burger and a Ghetto burger in a popular joke from his hit release "Raw".

My how the turn tables.

the line at wendys on 18th in monroe was out of the building after sunday morning church.

i'd go out of my mind smelling the burgers while waiting to go through that little disneyworld maze wendy installed at the front door.

Yep. And they did a far better job at keeping a burger warm than the cheap crap used today.

8. welcoming eating environment.

My kids wanted to eat inside instead of the drive-thru. I forgot that this location was newly renovated. It was impressive, modern, and welcoming. However, no one was in there at the time. I think its declining reputation of being a family restaurant over the years has made it a lost cause.

Looking at that video reminds me of Chik-Fil-A today. It's the one fast food place that middle class families will dine inside and are not ashamed by it.

Look at the traffic of CFA vs Chipotle vs McDonald's.

Like I said I was impressed and I would dine in a McDonalds now if I needed to. I just think its too little too late to achieve the old days and win back the masses. People moved on.

What they should bring back is a nice modern gymset/play area for the kids, and the characters. This was a draw for families.

Did the characters get axed similar to what happened to Joe Camel?
