I had to stay over an hour after my shift yesterday am to complete all my charting(cause I was too busy with my patients to even have time to chart). They had a bunch of student nurses show up to shadow the day nurses. So wanted to tell those student nurses "RUN, you don't want to go into nursing, trust me!"

I think you're a really good nurse and it's always sad when a good nurse leaves patient care. We have lost a lot of our nurses to NP school. But let me say you'll be a smoking skirt nurse
good luck with the interview

Awww, thanks Lith!
Maybe one day I'll go back to the bedside(assuming I get this job). That's the one good thing about nursing....so many different areas to work in.
I think working nights/12 hours shifts as well is taking it's toll. I'm more tired during my shift now. Don't really sleep well during the day anymore in between shifts. You know it's bad when the thought of working M-F 8 hours a day sounds like heaven (you know how much I love having 4 days off a week).

Yes it does 12 hours shifts lead to faster burnout. We have 8 and 10 hour shifts which make a huge difference

Hope you get the job you want, Maria.
I recently accepted an offer from my past employer to go over to the Houston area for a few months and oversee and manage the engineering department on a tight budget job. Huge project and the personnel in place are for the most part not qualified to be there.
I am convinced that this the last time I will ever work for someone else other than myself after this. 3 weeks left to fulfill my obligation.

Thanks Billy!
Good luck with the rest of your job obligations. I'm sure the pay is worth it though.
I may take a small pay cut if I get the job because I wouldn't be working nights so no more night shift premiums. The way I feel right now...I'm ok with that(as long as the paycut isn't too much).

I've learned some serious life lessons in the last several years that bottom line, happiness isn't about money. It's about being with the people that you love and doing what makes you happy.

I have 1 of 2 of these.
Looking for the people.
