not just because of the lawsuit, but the guy that contacted me ended up throwing me under the bus yesterday not long after I made that thread.

nah, it wasn't. it's a company that's one of our competitors. my current company and this competitor have one of the same clients. the competitor has been recruiting people from my current company and a couple of other companies (that also have the same client) to go work for him. it's started a big shite storm with the client that we both have. when the client confronted him about it and why he's recruiting other people, he twisted the story around to say that we have been reaching out to him. my name got thrown out there, the client mentioned this to my manager and I got a phone call yesterday evening when I got off of work wondering why I am considering switching companies. dickhead threw me under the bus and acted completely oblivious as to why I turned down his offer.
that, the lawsuit, and the fact that the offer seemed too good to be true drove me away. no worries though, I have a few other irons in the fire
