No, it's because people are narcissistic and childish. Anytime one of these dumbass issues comes to the forefront it isn't that people actually care about lions, or trannies or rebel flags or whatever the frick it is. They care about themselves and about how other people see them. They want to be seen as not a racist, or not a bigot or not an evil hunter. But mist of all, they want other people to think that they have a "cause." It doesn't really matter to them what that cause is.

Sort of that but a lot of people also realllllly like animals more than humans. One of the dumbest things I read was a guy on the poli board saying he eats meat now and enjoys it but if he couldn't buy it at a grocery store, he would become vegan.
