First off,

Secondly this works the same way as the overflow drain on your sink. Water level gets too high, drains into this thing which is connected to a pipe that runs down into the river below the reservoir.

Really wasn't. Being named a glory hole i assumed it was naturally occuring, and not a man made system, which could simply be called, drainage...

Yeah, that landmark referenced in the article was on the radio like a week ago. They were saying it was high or something. I googled something dumb like California glory hole, because I didn't know where it was. Bunch of other glory hole stuff pops up. Go tell my wife, hey, uh, if you see anything gay on my phone it was because of this
