Yup, Carmax low balls you way more than $500 so neither price is a good one.

This guy sent me a text saying they will buy the car and work with their dealers to be able to keep the tax credit. Just wondering how legit this is.

March of this year we purchased a new vehicle and the dealership wanted to give us $5200 for trade in. I know they steal it from you so I checked his (John Clay Wolfe) website, he offered us $6700. It was legit and pretty easy. We dropped it off at one of his drop spots in Scott, LA.
ETA;
above post is correct they contact the dealer to allow you to keep from having to pay taxes on the sale of your vehicle.

Sold them a car last year. Very easy process and they gave me more than I could get even after I tried to sell it myself.
I arranged to meet one of their carriers in the IKEA parking lot. They loaded the car up and took off. No test drive.
