Getting out of a timeshare

How do you got about getting out of or selling a timeshare? We love all the trips and whatnot but over the years, it’s the same thing over and over. Anything out west associated with it is a small window(always miss it), years in advance, and we’d like to venture out that way.

call one of those "Getting out of a timeshare" companies
it will cost you a good bit to get out, they all have exit clauses with stiff penalties, but they will get you out of it, so it is worth it.
honestly, i thought the timeshare business went the way of the dodo a long time ago

shite…forgot I was on the OT
Before I get lost in all of these great responses, let me rephrase.
Does anyone have personal experience exiting a timeshare? If so, how did you go about doing so?
It’s probably been in the family for 15-20 years now. Not mine personally, but I would inherit, and none of us want it.

I saw a documentary a few years ago showing how the get-out-of-your-timeshare companies were bigger ripoffs than the actual timeshare companies.

That’s actually a much more interesting question. You should speak to an estate attorney. The law governing line item rejection and acceptance of an estate can be complicated.

FYI, you'll need to sit through a hour long seminar first.

Before the 2008 financial crisis I was selling financing/leasing for dental offices/equipment (not to the patient)... $1 out financing, they called it.
Horrible rates and bad contracts. When it came crashing down in 2008, we were part of GE Healthcare... they closed us down in one day... all of us laid off.
Two months later my old boss called me asking if I wanted to a job reselling repo'd dental equipment... I told him I'm a capitalist at heart, but no I can't go down that path.
The same is for timeshares... This guy sold them, now he's selling how to get out of them.
Snake oil at its purest.
