So you can observe that the signature line on all your checks is not a solid line, but is a line with a continuation of 2 words: authorized signature. This process is called microprinting, which explains the MP at the end of so called line.

Was this not common knowledge? My eyesight must be good cause I've been reading those lines since I was young.

I actually find this to be kind of cool...not sure how they would print such small lettering, though.

I like to use them at the grocery store when the line behind me is about 12 deep

I barely write them anymore. Mostly just for kids school stuff and if any of the neighbor kids are selling something.

Also try to do it for all medical bills and copays. Makes it easier to keep up with at tax time.

But to deposit checks to my account, I take grainy photos of the front and back of them and click "deposit". No way those photos can detect microprinting.

While we are here and I'm thinking about it.... If you have a check from a Family member and they aren't around to sign it so you fill it out for them and sign their name.???

Is this against the law or anything? I mean you have their permission.... I once not long ago did this and obviously had no idea how he signed his name and I guess it popped up red flag. The girl at the counter had me hold on while she walked to the back of her cubical and actually called him saying someone was at his bank cashed a check and he confirmed it. She got off the phone, didn't say a word and and cashed it.

I'll write a check on occasion. They are good for person to person transactions where you can't use a card and you don't have the exact amount of cash on hand.

I only use them to pay child support...I like having proof. My wife uses them to pay bills. I pay my bills online.

If you truly do have their permission it'll be fine. If the owner of the account has a problem with it not so much.

Usually if the recipient of the check notices they'll at least do some due diligence though.
