The Georgia Legislature is full of the biggest collection of dumbasses this side of Tuscaloosa Alabama. Not surprised here.

So if his no-helmet bill never passed and helmets are still required, I guess he was wearing one?

If you want to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, fine.

However, before you are allowed to register or insure your bike, or get a motorcycle endorsement on your license, you should prove that you have insurance in the amount of $5,000,000 to offset the cost of any head injury you may sustain while riding. And also sign a waiver that under no circumstances will anyone but YOU or your family pay for treatment of head injuries sustained while riding.

Are there places that don't require helmets? Crazy. Same idiots who allow smoking in restaurants or bars or cell phones while driving or no mandatory seatbelts in front and back. Idiots

I suspect that wearing no helmet leads to fewer head injuries as the rider is more likely to die outright. Wearing a helmet likely saves the life but not without serious injury.

Smoking in restaurants and talking on a cell phone while driving are completely different from an adult not wearing a seat belt or helmet.

Smoking in restaurants and talking on a cell phone while driving can negativly affect others without their permision, while not wearing a seat belt or helmet places risk only on the person making the decision. It is barbaric and unAmerican to force an adult to wear a seat belt or helmet. It may be stupid to not wear one, but NO ONE has the moral authority to force a person to do so.

However this is just another issue the free market would take care of it were allowed to. It would be in the best interest of the insurance companies for their customers to wear seat belts and helmets so they could easily add a clause to their insurance contracts making their customers' claims void if they don't take proper safety measurements.

I can't believe somebody just posted against seat belt laws, front and back, and helmet laws. Are you locked in 1965?
