Had a Stihl and liked it. Lost it in the flood. Gotta replace it. Feedback?

been using those things ever since they first came out, don't see a lot of difference between the cheapest and the "top of the line," don't expect to get a whole lot of life out of them either, currently using a Ryobi, it's ok, but the line advancement doesn't last too long on any model I've used

I have the stihl FS60 I think it is. Love it, love it more than the echos I had before. The bump string ejector is top notch, best on the market in my opinion.

Stihl is probably accepted as the better brand but I've used both many different times and I would probably get either. If I had to pick it would be the 2-stroke Stihl

It doesn't have the same reputation...but my Ryobi has never failed to start on the 2nd pull...and it is 20 years old.

I just bought an echo with the changeable attachments. I've had echo's in the past and love them. This one I find heavy as shite however. Run and performs great.

the minimum bench charge for the closet shop near me, if you have to take it twice, justifies the purchase of a new one

I will add that the best string trimmer I have ever used was a Jonsered...but that was 25 years ago. At that time they were considered professional grade Husqvarna equipment. Not sure how good they are now.
