Not an expert but I've been told that if you have to transport a open liquor bottle you need to have it in the trunk or well out of reach of any passengers.

AZ is fricked up in this regard.
If you have a bottle of booze or wine that has been opened but is closed at the time of search and is within your reach, they'll write you up for open container. It's total bullshite.
