I will always believe he is a good, compassionate man that was surrounded by idiots while in office, some by his choice and the majority by the power brokers within the Democratic Party.

Hell of a humanitarian

Habitat for humanity is a scam

They browbeat people and companies to donate money to them so they can pay some doctors wives big administrative salaries then they force schools to make kids work for them under the guise of mandatory forced volunteer hours

Then when the house gets built some welfare queen in a Cadillac comes and gets it

Jimmy Carter was also a shitty president

Great man morally. And because of Biden he'll no longer be remembered as the worst president.

I could endorse this, we are living the Carter years 2.0 right now. But hey Biden has replaced him as the worse president of my lifetime. That is a huge accomplishment on Biden's part.

-----You should do your beliefs a favor and read a balanced bio of his White House days. Despite his face to the public, almost everyone who worked with him said he was arrogant & full of himself & believed that if people disagreed with him, they were idiots.

My point is, he brought a lot of his problems on his stubborn self. But he was what the country wanted and needed when he was elected after Watergate--an outsider, fresh face & showed Gerald Ford a lot of respect on inauguration day.

He's certainly had a long run. His presidency and years as governor were a mixed bag and certainly failed to live up to the promise put forward by his campaign.

He was known to be very stubborn and difficult to work with.

Probably the most decent man to be in the White House in the 20th Century.

Not a coincidence or random accident that he took office after Nixon/Ford. The confidence in the office of President was at an all time low. Carter -> Reagan was what was needed to get people to have any trust in the office whatsoever.

Slick Willy had already stolen the mantle. Selling weapons technology to the ChiComs, openly selling political access for personal gain (sleepovers at the White House), the beginning of the mass weaponizationing of the federal bureaucracy, perjuring himself under oath, Vince Foster. The list goes on.

The ONLY reasons people have this rose-colored view of Slick is because his arse was saved by the GOP taking the House and Senate in '94 (forced him to be a "moderate") and because CNN/NYT/WaPo told you he was a good president.

I’m so happy for him that he got to live long enough to see himself get replaced as the most ineffective president in history.

What are the odds the Democrats use his death to their advantage in the election this year if he goes before Election Day.

Terribly weak president but did a lot of good after leaving office.

it's like people feel they have to go out of their way to call him a bad president before they can acknowledge he was a good person.

just call him a good person.

edit: at least 6R12 called him a good guy first before a bad president, that's a start i guess.
