I know man. Screw all the crime and poverty ridden places in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts! Being uneducated, fat, and useless is the way to go
Look if you only want to live around white people in a cold Hobbit town, just say that

How does Louisiana rank when it comes to diversity? Because, that’s the only thing that truly matters.
Depends on what they are trying to accomplish lol.

Don’t worry. We have our first non-corrupt governor in decades. [sarc off]

What about Puerto Rico (U.S. territory) are we ahead of them in anything?

You obviously haven't been or spent time in any of these states. I moved from LA to NH and let me tell you, it's a far superior place to live and raise a family for many many reasons. I'd say the same for Vermont and Mass as well. Little to no crime, great schools, lots of jobs and industries, tons of things to do recreationally. Lakes, mountains, hiking, skiing, beaches, hunting, culture, etc. We have it all. Sure, no crawfish but these days you can order anything you really want and I can fly down to watch any LSU or Saints game i want to attend in person. My heart will always be in NOLA but I love living in NH.

I don't know why people here immediately dismiss the living conditions in northern states as cold, icy and uninhabitable.
There are three months, maybe a little more when it s very cold up there . The other nine months are really nice.
We have three plus months when it is so hot and humid down here that it is nearly uninhabitable.
To each his own, but in my experience, we do not live in a weather paradise and that's without considering the hurricanes, tornados, thunderstorms, ice storms and searing heat that offset the blizzards and cold up there, in my view.

You left out the parts about freezing your nuts off and how the sun goes down at 4:30 in the afternoon in the winter while the slush turns to ice.

Keep improving economy, education, opportunity, and infrastructure.
Crime & Corrections will never change.
I’d like to see the criteria for natural environment. Some of the names at the bottom don’t make a ton of sense to me.

Utah #1 overall with #46 in Natural Environment?
Florida #1 in education?
Minnesota #2 while Colorado #26 in Natural Environment?
Vermont #1 and Maine #2 in Opportunity?
Who made these rankings?

Don't see Alabama fighting with Mississippi and Louisiana on these lists anymore. Alabama zoomed by Louisiana at some point!
This is what happens when Nick Saban takes hold of your state long term. Everyone wins, everyone sticks to the process.
And they have nice beaches.

You don't have to go past their top 10 to realize the list is complete & utter shite.
All of these places have better schools and lower crime rates which is what these lists are based on.

For the 20th year in a row U.S News still sucks and their rankings are useless.
Pick a place to live and raise your family. The pluses and minuses of each state are pretty obvious. You shouldn't need some lame magazine's made up rankings to help you determine these.
Most of this is subjective and where you choose to live should be based off of your own values and what you view as important.
Which is why I would never leave the South!

I, too, credit Nick Saban as the reason why Alabama is no longer pillow fighting with Mississippi and Louisiana on these shittiest states list. Great man!
