Why do yall give a shot about waves?

Um, it's a running joke I do believe.

Of course there are no waves on Lake of Mexico.

The only thing I don't like is the $3.50 they charge to cross the stupid bridge.

Well you could just go the other way

You are paying for convenience. Without the toll, the bridge wouldn't be there

So even if you're going to Perdido by Lost Key this is worth taking?

$3.50 for toll
My truck gets approx 17mpg. So saving 30 min an average of 60mph, I saved approximately $5.73 in gas (assuming $3.25/gal). So overall I saved $2.23 plus 30 min.

if you were going 60, you wouldnt save 30 minutes

it saves time because its not bumper to bumper as bad as 59 is.....so your math doesnt exactly work

like others have said, its worth it depending on what direction you are heading...OB yes, western side of gulf shores, not really

Well bumper to bumper or "city" mpg is actually worse than rolling at 60 so my number is probably low. BUT... Worst case it's $0.00 cost and saves time. Well worth it.

I guess I didn't have the same luck as some on here. The last time I went I took it and the other car with me went through Foley and they were only like 2 min behind me. I think a lot of it depends on which side of orange beach you are staying in and how bad the traffic by the foley mall is.

Just to be clear,

the Foley Beach Express has been open for some number of years. It begins about half the way between I-10 and the coast. It is about a $3 toll.

The Baldwin beach express is what just opened. It now connects I-10 to the Foley beach express. It has no tolls and completely eliminates the need to take hwy 59 to the coast.

If you are going to the coast anywhere east of hwy 59, there is no question that this route (baldwin & foley express) will save you time (accidents and weird traffic notwithstanding)
