Most legitimate news report on Isis/terrorist attacks I have heard in weeks.

Having lived in Cleveland for ten years I can see that happening.

The driver was cool as shite but I imagine that the camera was set towards the center of the windscreen and he had more vision than the camera showed. I would have let out a few choice words though.

Saw it on the news wondered why the driver didn't slam on the brakes or speed up. Unless not paying attention.

Does the driver of the SUV have any liability in that scenario?

Finch, no.

It falls under the same thing as any random object falling out of the sky from breaking loose from wherever it came from.

Basically, it's why you pay insurance.

If all it did was break the windshield, go out of pocket because it's cheaper in the end.

The black SUV driver didn't cause that to happen so the driver is not at fault

Makes sense.

I had my windshield broken by things flying out of a dump truck and they had to replace it.

I guess it was because it wasn't properly covered so they could have stopped it.

Happened to my wife in one of the winter storms last year in Memphis. Large chunk of ice took the side mirror off of our Outback.

Ironic considering the news report... I was in Turkey at the time.

Driver seems like a really good driver IMO. I have no idea how I would have reacted.. but probably not good..

There's not too much time there to just get out the way.. that could be worse. He just took it and slowed down and got over when he could..

Very impressive.

I thought you were liable for any snow or ice that flies off the top of your vehicle. I thought it was the responsibility of the driver to keep that top of the vehicle clear.

Down South, people never clear off the top of their vehicles when it snows and you see snow and ice flying around all the time. Incredibly dangerous.

Happened to Mr 1999 years ago. Ice sheet came off a local delivery truck he was behind on the interstate. Hit the hood of the car at a near 90° angle and killed the engine- somehow it dented the hood in such a way that it hit something on top of the engine and shut off the car as he's traveling down the highway. Truck never knew it happened.

Don't have to live up north for this to happen. Several years ago we were crossing River on I-10 on Xmas eve had a sheet of ice come off a big rig and take out the windshield of my Yukon. Scary shite punched a hole clear thru.
