BATON ROUGE – A pick-up basketball game at a fitness club turned into a brawl, a stay in jail for one guy and a court summons for another.

Dararius Evans, 25, was charged with disturbing the peace and resisting an officer after the altercation at LA Fitness on Siegen Lane Thursday night. Another, unidentified man, was given a summons – a ticket and requirement to appear in court on charges not heinous enough to be booked into jail.

According to a report about Evans' arrest filed with him being booked into jail, deputies wrote Evans and the other person had a fight over using the basketball court at the gym and Evans shouted he was getting a gun to “shoot the gym up.” Managers became concerned when Evans reached for a camouflaged bag, so they forcefully removed him from the gym.

Video posted on Facebook showed employees of the gym pushing Evans out as they waited for deputies to arrive.

“Get 'em out,” people shout as they work to get Evans out of the facility. There were a handful of 911 calls about the fight from people who saw it, authorities said.

When a deputy arrived soon after, authorities said Evans was uncooperative and had to be, again, forcibly made to comply with requests. Evans was handcuffed and detained as deputies conducted an investigation.

Evans confessed to deputies, he did not have a gun with him and no gun was found in his bag. Evans said he was actually reaching for his keys.

While Evans said he never threw punches, deputies noted in their report, he was bloodied with injuries to his lip and knuckles. He told deputies he was jumped by two other guys.

If you like to play pick up basketball you have to be willing to pay more to play in a gym that won't have the riff raff

Did the employee throw a left to knock that dude out or did he just Soccer board and flop?

Carried him out like a sack of potatoes

Amateur mistake.

Always use the Bas Rutten palm strike when you get into LA Fitness basketball brawls. That way the deputies will believe you were the victim since your knuckles will still be clean.

The riff raff goes everywhere bra.

Hell they would pay the daily fee to come to the UREC and ball.

There is a valuable lesson here. Never threaten a bunch of roid heads.

I hope you're being sarcastic, because this isn't some new thing

Some people get all pissy. Then one hard foul and people want to throw down

I've been playing pickup since I was in elementary school. I've seen friends, family and coworkers all fighting over someone checking someone too hard when they went in for a layup.

Complete strangers fighting is the least surprising thing about this lol
