My pops had a double bypass last November. The drains are going to bother him. First few days with the drains are very painful. Once the drains come out he'll improve every day. Make sure he's got a good comfortable chair at home that is easy for him to get in and out of without him having to push up using his arms.
Good luck.

He has a recliner. Not sure how easy or hard it is to get out of. The drain tubes don't sound like fun but hoping he will be on pain meds so he is not in constant pain.

You got it Weaver, I'll say on for your Dad, the cardiologist, and the surgical staff. It's amazing the stuff they can do today.
Best wishes and God Bless!

Not much. He is drinking water and has some fluid in his lungs. He will be in ICU tomorrow. Still has a chest tube which I can only imagine sucks.

No updates. This morning the doctors were concerned about his heart being in rhythm so he may need a pacemaker. I am hoping that isn't necessary as that will require another surgery.
Please continue the prayers. Thanks again.

Got some not so good news. My dad has to have a pacemaker, so now another surgery, hopefully today after 3. Then he is having issues with breathing due to the fluid in his lungs. They can't remove that because his blood pressure is elevated. He also now has diabetes. They think that is temporary, but not sure. So now I have no idea when he will be getting out of the hospital.
Please keep him in your prayers.

Grandmother had a pacemaker
Didn't seem to impact her in a negative way. She lived with one for 10-15 yrs. she just had to get it routinely checked every few months if I remember correctly

Sorry to hear of the set-back. Just sent a prayer your way. Hang in there.
