Saw a tweet on this and just did the math. The debt calculator I just found won't stop going up, and it's moving at an alarming rate. a-hole. Anyways, it would cost every man, woman, and child in the US approx. $62K a piece to get us back to zero.

Happy hump day.

We should just not pay and tell the other countries to deal with it

just as students should not repay their student loans and tell the government to deal with it

I looked at it too. I went ahead and wrote a check for the full amount, no thank you needed.

So do I need to write a check for 62K for myself or my household? I can handle one kid, but the older two will have to mow lawns or some shite.

I think those that pay their share should be exempt from taxes forever

Based on quarterly data released by the US Treasury, the debt at the end of 2008 - just before Obama took office - stood at roughly $10,699,805,000,000.

As of the third quarter of 2016, the most recent data available, the debt as Obama is set to leave office stood at $19,573,445,000,000.

Thanks Obama and to a lesser extent GWB
