Fad/obscure diet plans and supplements

Who recalls chromium picolonate, calcium pyruvate and Cybergenics (supplement and diet plan)?
I recall all three being fads in the mid to late 90's. GNC must have sold a ton of this stuff. CLA is another one that was hot about 15 years ago.

Calories in < Calories out
It's a pretty simply concept. No idea about all that other shite.

Any diet where quinoa is a staple is a fad

Concept remains the same BUT some calories in have a bigger effect on the calories out than others

I don't understand people who go on diets and spend all this money. You wanna lose weight? Eat less and exercise.

I truly have no idea about the supplements you mentioned from the 90's. My response to your question was not to be a jerk in any way. I always go by Calories in vs Calories out and it has always worked for me.
Here let me add another contribution to the thread: I had an aunt who used ex lax was a diet supplement for years. She's a dumbarse. better?
ETA; Calling me a jerk comes across as a bit childish, no?

I remember these, it seems like chromium picolanate was found to have some pretty nasty health risks. All the supps with tons of ephedrine in them back in the 90s were probably worse.
Fatkins and the HCG diets are scams too
